John Bonham
And as Russell Harvey would have it he lived in caves
So practiced in resonant resistant rocks
And so became the sticks and feet master.
He rolled the rocks above the clouds
This before the rains came
And so became the thunder caster
On pace, on time
But heavier than the rain in a barrel
When power chords struck and lightning licked
behind the depth of rolling waves
And the voice of beauty scream would soar
All prominent, confident on Bonham’s core.
